First Wrinkles

When the skin is said to be young, it has very fast cellular renewal—every 21 days. As the years go by, cellular renewal is slowed down by several contributing factors:

  • the individual's biological clock;
  • stress;
  • lifestyle;
  • skin care;
  • the environment.

Consequently, a premature ageing process is set in motion. Expression lines and surface dehydration can often be observed. Cellular renewal slows down from the age of 25, and the skin loses 5% of its collagen every year. The first wrinkles then appear progressively as the years pass.
